About Olivia Demerath
I am a graduate of the Bates College class of ‘23 where I majored in Global Environmental Policy and Rhetoric. My undergraduate studies centered on the intersections between Infrastructure Act era environmental policy, rhetorics of sustainability, and corporate governance. My undergraduate thesis analyzed investor and industry group commentary on the SEC’s ‘Enhancement and Standardization of Climate Related Financial Disclosures’ ruling. Here, I contextualized the SEC’s efforts toward regulating Scope 3 emissions and maintaining transparent reporting guidelines. In my current role in the Boston office of Ropes & Gray LLP, I assist the Investment Management practice group in providing cutting edge legal counsel to Mutual Funds and ETFs regulated under the 1940 Investment Company Act and the 1933 Securities Act. I am especially interested in evolving Names Rule disclosure and litigation regarding fiduciary obligations. I plan to enter law school in the Fall of 2026. I would love to connect with you!
