ABOUT OLIVIA ACKERS

Storytelling is my passion and expertise. With a First-Class BA (Hons) in English with Creative Writing from Queen Mary University of London, I specialise in crafting compelling narratives and engaging content. This is showcased across literature-focused platforms I write for such as The Writers Herd and The Suffolk Book League website and bi-annual newsletter. Alongside this, I have created book-related social media accounts (@benevbooks) to showcase my interest in reading, sharing book reviews and book content to a collective audience of followers. My experience spans writing, book reviewing and social media content creation where I have successfully developed engaging campaigns and collaborated with various creative teams, authors, and brands, ensuring growth on platforms like Instagram and TikTok. My reviews have contributed to prepublication buzz as well as increasing reader engagement by leveraging social media strategies and creative marketing techniques. I have also fueled this experience with working at The Writers Herd which has expanded on my creative writing skillset, as well as running a business, and social media content creation. My publishing industry knowledge and marketing skillset has been further developed with my freelance writing, Publicity and Marketing internship, working as a Bookseller for Waterstones, as well as my committee work with Suffolk Book League, and a contributing writer for The Writers Herd. In these roles, I have also gained experience in event planning, conducting author interviews, and professional article writing. Driven by a love for literature, publishing, and digital storytelling, I am eager to contribute my skills to innovative teams in the industry. Whether crafting compelling book reviews, managing social media content, or refining editorial pieces, I am committed to producing work that leaves an impact.
