About Oliver Pengilly
Licensed Professional Civil Engineer (Geotechnical) and Chartered Engineering Geologist (CGeol) with over 12 years of industry experience. I lead our Geotechnical team in the US Pacific Northwest and also serve as the Resource Manager for Geotechnical, Tunnels and Bridges & Civil for Mott MacDonald\'s Northwest Division. My geotechnical and geological engineering design experience spans geohazards, subsurface investigation, ground improvement, drilled shaft / bored pile foundations, deep excavations, soil nail and tieback design, embankments and earthworks. I am familiar with and have practiced in accordance with various international standards and guideance documents including AASHTO, CalTrans, CIRIA, Eurocode, FHWA, Highways Agency (UK), ODOT and, WSDOT.I have extensive design and geotechnical construction experience for the Contractor, Designer, and Owner on various traditional and alternative delivery models, including Design-Build and GC/CM. Additionally, I maintain an active role leading Mott MacDonald US West coast Leapfrog Works superuser group, delivering 3D geological models for large linear infrastructure projects.Outside of work, I maintain my roots as a rugby fanatic and enjoy exploring new surf breaks up and down the West Coast.
