About Oliver Warfield
I\'m a Product Manager working on Accessibility and Inclusion across Pixel devices. I recently led the launch of Magnifier, an app that leverages Pixel\'s advanced camera tech to help people see the world around them better. I am an out and proud trans man, and co-lead Google\'s Trans Product Inclusion team - collaborating with product teams across Google to make our experiences more inclusive of trans and gender non-conforming people. Prior to Google, I created and oversaw Peloton’s Accessibility and Inclusion product development strategy for hardware and software. I also served as a champion for accessibility efforts beyond Peloton’s product org, working with Content (the team that creates Instructor classes), Communications, DE & I, Retail, Member Support, and beyond to mature both Peloton’s internal and external commitments to accessibility. The projects I\'m most proud of at Peloton include-Adding a modified version of TalkBack to Peloton’s Tread. This uses chimes and TalkBack announcements to give blind and low-vision treadmill users real-time feedback about speed and incline changes and safety alerts. The modifications to TalkBack ensured that hardware alerts and mechanical changes always took priority over less important changes-Adding AI subtitles to Live Peloton classes. I worked closely with Voice teams to train the transcription models, and with research teams to get feedback to both improve the AI models and evaluate when it became shippable! Before Peloton, I was a Senior Product Manager at Bright.md, a telehealth company that provides a dynamic virtual clinical interview that cuts the amount of time doctors spend writing up chart notes. At Bright.md, I led a product team to enable each medical system to customize escalation pathways to triage patients to the most relevant next appointment type, as well as championing diversity and inclusion work in both the product and organization as a whole. I got my start in product management working in residential property rental technology at a small startup named Cozy that was acquired to power rental payments and lease management at Apartments.com. I\'m most proud of making the business case to build Fair Housing best practices into the tenant screening process, holding landlords accountable to local screening requirements.
