ABOUT OLIVER TO

Creativity and organisation are two key words that best describe me. After completing both of my degrees and relevant work experience, I was able to comprehend different elements of creative design and how it plays a key part in the success of businesses. This is where I started to grow a passion for costume design and bespoke tailoring. In my professional career so far, I have had a range of roles within the commercial fashion and bespoke costume design industry. I have been involved in pattern construction and manufacture, as well as pattern grading, pattern cutting, tech packs, spec sheets, quality control, trend analysis, fashion design, garment development, sampling, tailoring and fitting sessions to name a few. I am passionate, innovative and exceptionally organised. I have been able to develop a multitude of skills and knowledge that has been utilised in any professional environment I have worked in. In my most recent role as Assistant Production Manager at Watts and Co, I was recognised for my hard work and determination previously as Tailor Assistant which enabled me to be put in charge of production in the outfitting department. I am responsible for product development, quality control, bespoke orders, costing, overseeing of the machinist and manufacturing from start to finish. Utilising technical sewing skills and pattern construction techniques to create garments that are fit for purpose and practicality, I continuously use creativity to produce a range of designs including the use of relevant software applications. Additionally, I continuously manage a range of tasks including fittings, collecting measurements to perform tailored alterations and ad-hoc tasks when needed.
