ABOUT OLIVER SIMMS

I am an ACA qualified accountant with a passion for local government finance and audit. After 4 years working on trying to address the crisis in local audit at both ICAEW and FRC, I have decided it is time for something different and am moving into a local government finance role.Previously I worked for 6.5 years at the National Audit Office. My roles including as Audit Principal in the Practice and Quality team, Engagement Manager on the Equality and Human Rights Commission Audit and lead the Department for International Trade (DIT) audit for two years. The NAO 2018-19 Annual Report lists the substantial impact of the audit on DIT\'s processes as one of the key wider impacts achieved by the office in the year.I have a reputation for consistently delivering work to high standards and my excellent technical knowledge. I am a clear communicator with a passion for sharing ideas and developing teams. I have line managed multiple trainees and designed and delivered training to both trainees and more experienced staff.
