I have worked at Farrers my whole career, having trained at the firm and qualified into the Private Client Department in 2007. In 2017 I became a partner in the firm, and on 1 May 2025 I succeeded Sarah von Schmidt as Managing Partner of the Private Client Department. I provide strategic advice on tax and succession planning to ultra-high-net-worth individuals and families, with a particular focus on the Middle East, a region I have worked in for over 15 years and feel great affection for. Many of the families I advise have complex business interests and global asset footprints, often with private trust companies, trusts, foundations and active family offices already in place. My role is to help them protect, evolve and transition those structures with clarity and long-term focus.Much of my work centres on trust law. I advise settlors, trustees and beneficiaries on the formation, administration and restructuring of UK and offshore trusts, frequently in situations involving sensitive family dynamics, generational transition or contested issues. I work closely with our disputes, corporate, real estate and financial services teams, as well as with foreign counsel and local advisers, to deliver cohesive, cross-disciplinary solutions where needed.I believe clients value the continuity and perspective I bring to long-standing relationships. I’m often asked to help shape governance frameworks that balance family control with professional oversight and to advise on the tax and regulatory implications of those arrangements, especially where UK connections or real estate are involved.I lead the firm’s Middle East Group and speak at international conferences on private wealth structuring and family governance. My approach is strategic, collaborative and grounded in an understanding of how families operate across jurisdictions and generations.
