ABOUT OLIVER OZIOKO

I am currently a lecturer in Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the University of Derby, England, and the Chair of Sensors Council Young Professionals. I am actively involved in the use of flexible electronic and sensing technologies for the development of tactile sensors, haptic interfaces and circuits for application in areas such as electronic skin (eSkin) for smart objects, prosthesis, robotics and assistive technologies. Professionally, I love the power of integrating software and hardware and enjoy working in the following areas: Sensor design/ fabrication, Electronic circuit design and implementation, haptic interfaces, soft robotics, product and system testing, integration of hardware and software, 3D Printing, Fabrication of rigid and flexible printed electronic circuits, as well as fabrication of microelectronic devices. I am also very excited about public engagement activities, training and teaching people – this is often an opportunity for me to interact and share knowledge with others. In this area I have won award at the University of Glasgow and selected to present my research to the UK House of Commons. I have also made presentations at conferences and workshops in different countries like Hungary, Austria, Brazil, India and different cities in the UK. Key Skills: SPICE (Circuit Simulator), COMSOL Multiphysics(finite element simulation), MATLAB, Microcontroller Programming, Eagle PCB designer, Multisim, Origin for data analysis, 3ds Max (for CAD design), 3D printing, Sketchup, Inkscape, Coreldraw. Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, Excel, Outlook, and Visio. Microelectronic Tools: Different Equipment for Electron beam (E-beam) Physical Vapour Deposition (PVD) for metal evaporation and sputtering, Mask Aligners for lithography, Electroplating, Printed Circuit Board (PCB) design and fabrication, several chemical preparation processes for the fabrication of microelectronic devices, and soldering techniques.
