Contracted to Imperial Oil Refinery as Project Manager Execution and Commissioning Lead for Nanticoke and Sarnia Refinery. The role involves Preparing and Managing Capital projects from project charter through execution to commissioning and closing and also Commissioning of projects. Prepare construction work packages for the construction of Tanks and other Capital investments projects within the engineering and projects department.Capital and Maintenance budget up to US$220 million. Report, Track and control project cost and variances. prepare monthly accruals and reporting. Manage estimating and change orders when scope variances are identified.Tank Construction,Review Construction contracts and direct and control the activities of Projects on site through Field supervisorsPerform job site walk downs during site visits and review scheduleParticipate and lead the Safety talksCoach and mentor Field Supervisors and contractor foreman and craft to comply with HSE policies, procedures and best practices. Support the implementation of identified risk mitigation/ avoidance plans as assigned.Report work that is not in accordance with company criteria, specifications, and standards. Update and maintain QA packages to be handed over at the end of the job.Participate in commissioning and turnover activitiesParticipate in Project Completion walkdowns for the identification of incomplete work.Review contractor punch list to ensure all items are captured to ensure project closure.
