I am currently employed as the Youth Justice Team Manager covering the Welsh county of Powys. This role requires leadership of a team of Youth Justice Workers covering Wales\' largest county. Powys is the largest of Wales\' counties, covering approximately square miles. Whilst some may view Powys as rural and quiet, working in such an environment brings its own geographical challenges and resource challenges. As part of this role; I have to motivate my team of Youth Justice Workers, set targets, chair multi-agency meetings, meet with key stakeholders, deliver on local and national targets, sign off work, including reports for Court, supervise staff, implement new policies, interview and recruit new staff, deliver on budget information, chair and sign off Out of Court Disposals for young people, orchestrate links with local agencies, attend Youth Justice Board meetings and feedback on quarterly data, oversee staff complaints and any complaints from members of the public, attend and contribute at regional meetings and liaise with Senior Management, amongst several other areas of work. I am also the lead for \"Children and Young People who offend\" as part of an Inclusion Steering Group. This role requires me to be a strong communicator whilst maintaining the ability to make quick, decisive and informed decisions to protect the public whilst ensuring that the service provided by Powys Youth Justice Service has the best interests at the heart of the work we do with young people who have committed offences.
