ABOUT OLISHA DMELLO

Hello! I am Olisha D\'Mello, a 3rd-year Computer Science Co-op student at McMaster University. I am an organized and ambitious individual who likes to explore new opportunities and skills. I am always looking for an opportunity to do better and achieve my goals. In addition, I like to use my creativity to come up with solutions or ideas. I am the Co-President of the McMaster Start Coding club; I mentor middle to high school students on elm programming language through animations and game creation. I have participated in multiple hackathons and designathons. Through the competitions, I was able to challenge myself and develop my skills in areas such as time management, creativity, communication, and problem-solving. Moreover, I was part of the Robotics Club at Canadian University Dubai (CUD), where my team and I participated in the VEX U Robotics Competition and won in the VEX U Mena Region. We were selected to participate in the world championship. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, we could not go to the US. However, this competition helped me refine my skills such as critical thinking, time and project management, creativity, research, and teamwork. By being part of clubs and participating in competitions, I have learned to be an optimistic, communicative, and flexible individual.
