I am an Special Educator with Chicago Public Schools. I service students who have diverse learning needs. This population of students are often underserved because many teacher preparation programs only require one special education class for teacher candidates. As a result of this, a lot of general educators don’t have the knowledge to help these students access the general education curriculum. Prior to teaching, I have been connected with the beauty industry. I am licensed by the State of Illinois as a nail technician and a cosmetologist. I love the beauty industry and I would love to return to it away from the chair. Other related industries are hotel/hospitality and retail.
