ABOUT OLAMIDE ESO
I am passionate about advancing sustainable and low-carbon solutions within the built environment, with expertise spanning energy-efficient building design, Net Zero strategies, BREEAM, Life Cycle Carbon Assessment (LCA), low-carbon technologies, capacity building, reporting, and stakeholder engagement.I hold a PhD in Sustainable Energy Technology, where I developed an award-winning PCM-integrated hybrid windcatcher system for passive cooling and indoor thermal stabilisation in tropical climates. My research, presented at international conferences, has informed climate-resilient building policy and climate education initiatives as a Commonwealth Scholar.Currently, I contribute to sustainability consultancy projects at Stantec, focusing on BREEAM benchmarking against UK Building Regulations, energy performance, preparing sustainability reports, and conducting Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) and carbon design studies to inform embodied carbon reduction strategies. My work supports clients in achieving Net Zero objectives and demonstrating measurable sustainability outcomes across diverse project portfolios. As a National Energy Efficiency Expert, I have led energy-efficient building design studies, capacity-building programmes, and multi-stakeholder engagement initiatives. I also served as a Co-Investigator and Analyst on AI-driven climate data projects for schools in East Africa, delivering actionable insights for low-carbon, climate-resilient buildings. My international development experience includes collaborations with GIZ, GOPA, UN Women UK, Open Development and Education Ltd (UK), and the African Women Empowerment Forum (AWEF)—advancing climate change and energy efficiency in buildings, capacity development, gender equality, STEM education, digital literacy research, and climate action.I am committed to translating research into real-world impact, helping organisations achieve Net Zero goals, carbon reduction, and sustainability compliance. Beyond my technical work, I advocate for inclusive sustainable development, STEM education, and climate resilience, engaging diverse stakeholders to drive meaningful change.
