Hello, I have always wanted to build and create my own projects. Being a junior developer allows me to act on this by planning, building and implementing code into impactful projects. I am a 1st Class Accounting and Finance Graduate turned junior developer. I decided to make the career switch in 2022 because I believed that being a developer would be fascinating and I was interested to learn more about programming. I initially learnt Python in school however I did not take this further as I believed that I wanted to pursue Accounting. I knew that I still had some lingering interest in programming and I wanted to give it another go. I took part in an intensive 12 week Software Development Bootcamp at JustIt. The key topics covered were: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, MySQL, Python, MongoDB. My Accounting and Finance degree has taught me many skills such as: acting in a prudential manner at all times, having an eye for detail when working around financial statements, professional integrity and being able to work with others towards a common goal. As an early career switcher, I have shown that I am keen to learn new things and that I can make calculated risks; I have transferrable skills that will help me to perform in the programming sector.
