About Okey Nestor

On Design was founded by Okey Nestor, who brings more than 20 years of experience as a graphic designer and art director to his current position as the company\'s creative director.Prior to founding On Design, Okey was president and owner of Nestor.Stermole Visual Communications Group, a packaging and brand identity design firm, where he directed a staff of over 10 designers. From 1993 to 1996 he served for three years as president of Shankweiler Nestor Partners, a firm specializing primarily in annual report design and brand identity with a staff of five. Both firms enjoyed much growth and success under his leadership.Okey maintains a strong network in the creative community. He has taught graphic design and brand identity and given lectures to both student and professional audiences throughout his career and is a member of the American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA) New York chapter, the New York Art Directors Club (ADC), the Type Directors Club (TDC) and the Graphic Artists Guild of New York. His versatile and stylish work has been acclaimed by leading design associations and publications, including design work that was selected for the National Design Archives of the AIGA in New York City, Annual Reports100 (AR100), Best Logomarks of the Decade, Communication Arts, Graphic Design USA, Graphis Packaging, Graphis Posters, I.D. magazine, LogoLounge, and Print magazine, among others. AR100 selected the Rockefeller Brothers Fund Annual Review for inclusion in its publication as one of the best annual report designs of the year.Specialties: Design for Packaging and Brand Identity, Web sites, Marketing and Promotional Materials, Business Collateral, and Annual Reports.

   As Van West Media’s senior art director since 2011, I guide the firm’s major projects with singular design vision as well as with unifying conceptual and imaging approaches. I bring strong ideas and solid directions to help lead Van West Media in its creation of branding development, responsive eCommerce web sites and interactive strategies, product packaging systems, and digital marketing campaigns. Under my direction the company has significantly grown in both revenue and client relationships. My capacity to analyze our clients’ needs and develop high-quality solutions help them fully meet their business goals. My decisive leadership style is characterized by a proven ability to address challenges head-on, while my strong work ethic and commitment to organizational objectives allows our team to get the job done with both efficiency and clarity.I look forward to continued collaboration with Van West Media’s owner Shad Mohammed.
