Under general direction, to analyze training needs; to plan, organize, develop, and conduct training programs for Court judicial officers, management, and staff; to develop training curriculum and training materials; to locate training vendors and make recommendations as to their use in the Court; to evaluate the effectiveness of training provided; to provide a variety of assistance and guidance for Court staff working in a trainee status; and to do related work as required.This is a specialized classification for positions which are responsible for the development and conducting of training programs for Court staff. Incumbents plan and conduct a variety of training sessions and activities, provide direct assistance and guidance for staff, and plan and develop training materials for curricula. This class is distinguished from lower level training specialist or administrative analyst positions in that the number of senior level positions is limited to only the smallest portion of analytical positions and positions in this class are normally assigned the full range of training responsibilities, including assignment of entire projects or overall program responsibilities for an entire facet of training activities.Reports to the director of Human Resources. Though not a supervisory classification, this position has some responsibilities for providing direction, coordination, or training for other staff that may be exercised, depending on the nature of the individual assignment.

Organized - Results Driven - Personable A learning & development professional offering 15 years’ experience designing, organizing, and conducting of a variety of employee training programs for the judges and court staff of the San Francisco Superior Court that improve the overall abilities of trainees to conduct the work of their current positions as well as prepare for future advancement opportunities. A demonstrated ability to manage large, high-profile projects involving many stakeholders while dealing tactfully and effectively with personnel at all levels of the organization. Initially designed the LEAP program, which provided employee development training on basic leadership principles for the first 5 years of my court career. Similarly, the EDT program, available to staff since 2014 provides employee development training on basic management principles, goal setting and project management and meets yearly & biannual federal, state and local education requirements for orientation, safety, sexual harassment, bias & discrimination training in addition to training on bullying, conflict, teamwork, emotional intelligence and other subjects suitable for staff in diverse working environments. Currently developed the Next Generation Training Project for the court that gives staff access to training on site, remotely and self-paced to update the training function at the court with new technologies in response to the COVID pandemic and beyond. Finally, work on a variety of special projects illustrates an ability to lead and coach others to meet the goals of the organization. Solid multidisciplinary educational background in communication, organizational management and instructional design & technology; Demonstrated experience designing, developing and reviewing curriculum using subject matter experts and incorporating educational & web-based technology in the classroom and in training settings at a variety of educational levels, for various adult audiences. Clear understanding of pedagogical & andragogical processes and the adult learning theory associated with training at a variety of educational levels as well as a history of paying close attention to educational outcomes that result from the training that I have done in the past, as such is critical to the participant-centered approach to education that I adopted years ago.
