Fish tissue extraction to identify biological phase(s) responsible for differential PFAS uptake in various fish tissues across organs, with the final aim to develop correlations between partition coefficients and field-observed bioaccumulation metrics to enable a mechanistic understanding of PFAS fate, transport and bioaccumulation- Community-engaged environmental sample collection of indoor/outdoor air, drinking water, soil, dust and blood to evaluate the impacts of ongoing industrial activity and accidental chemical release on environmental health- Exposure monitoring through chemical analysis of trace levels of PFAS (in personal wearable air samplers, dust, soil, sediment, drinking water and blood) and SVOCs/VOCs (in indoor grab air samples, outdoor passive air samplers and soil) in areas impacted by chemical releases and applications- Developed and optimized analytical methods for PFAS extractions from diverse environmental and biological matrices followed by targeted mass spectrometric analysis on liquid chromatographic instruments.(EPA Methods 1633, 533)- Developed and optimized analytical methods for (a) SPME extractions of VOCs from grab air samples in Tedlar bags (EPA Method 8260) and (b) extractions of SVOCs from passive air samplers, soil/sediment and personal wearable passive samplers (EPA Method 8270), followed by targeted mass spectrometric analysis on gas chromatographic instruments.
