ABOUT PATRICK OHNEWEIN

Head of Tech Transfer Digital at NOI Techpark. At NOI Techpark, I lead a team of project managers dedicated to coordinating European Research & Development Projects across SMART Mobility, SMART Tourism, SMART Energy, and SMART Food. My team drives an innovation strategy built upon Open Data, Open Standards, and Free Open Source Software. Our work supports Start-Ups, Companies, and Research Organizations in implementing innovative data-driven solutions through comprehensive services, including OpenDataHub.com, the Free Software Lab, and the European Digital Innovation Hub (EDIH NOI). My extensive commitment to the Software Freedom movement began in the mid-90s. I am a co-founder of the Linux User Group Bozen-Bolzano-Bulsan (lugbz.org) and spearhead the organization of the annual South Tyrol Free Software Conference (SFSCON.it). I actively coordinate various software-developer communities and serve as a digital expert in numerous work-groups and committees, including my role as a core-team member of the Free Software Foundation Europe (FSFE). With over two decades of experience, my background as a former software developer provides a robust foundation for my current expertise in digital product development and the coordination of impactful digital R&D initiatives. Specialties: Team Management, Project Management (R&D ICT projects), Software Development (C/C++, Java), System Administration (GNU/Linux)
