ABOUT OGHENEOVOKE AKPUDE
I am Ogheneovoke (Ovoke) Akpude, a second-year student at the University of Chicago studying Public Policy and Business Economics with a variety of interests in law, public policy, government, urban economics, finance, and business/entrepreneurship. Hailing from East New York, a low-income minority neighborhood, as a first-generation Nigerian-American, I have developed a passion to use my voice and ambitious drive to give back to my community. From involving myself in my high school\'s debate team to joining my college Afrobeats dance team to currently being part of the Public Policy Student Advisory board, I have immersed myself in various professional and extracurricular opportunities to develop my interpersonal skills and learn valuable life skills to develop into a successful career. With this platform, I intend to broaden my professional network with like-minded individuals who also seek to be a light and enact change in the world around us.
