ABOUT OCTAVIO GONZALEZ
Octavio is proud to be a part of the Santa Barbara Foundation and is driven by a desire to positively shape the community he has been fortunate to call home. As Policy Analyst, drawing from his academic background and lived experience, Octavio monitors current or impending California legislation as it relates to the Foundation’s work across the county and provides analytical insight to improve the quality and impact of SBF’s advocacy work and programs. Before joining the team at the Foundation, Octavio was a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Denver, where he eventually earned an MA in International Security with certification in Homeland Security. Octavio is also a member of the business development team at Frontida Health Records, a start–up global nonprofit specializing in electronic health records in underserved communities. He also has a BA in International Relations from the University of Southern California.
