Let me tell you a story. I grew up with the rise of the internet. At 13, I designed, coded, and self-hosted my first website. I offered free layouts, hosting services, and step-by-step tutorials on topics like html, php, JavaScript, and Photoshop. I always loved sharing knowledge. At 15, I partnered with my mom (best business partner ever) to design websites for local businesses. We pitched that websites were the “business cards of the future” (you can laugh, just respect that we were saying this in the early ). We closed a few deals, and I used the earnings to buy my first used car. I joked that I was “financially independent”. I took a break from the business to focus on school and earn my Bachelor’s. Since I’m a non-conformist, I did the opposite of what everyone else in Silicon Valley was doing and completed my degree (I even earned a minor along the way). Quite frankly, I never imagined that my teenage hobby would ever translate to a viable career path. Fast-forward to today, I see that this breadth of knowledge aided me tremendously in launching my career as a digital marketing professional. During my career, I’ve had the freedom to experiment and pioneer successful digital marketing strategies custom-tailored to my clients’ needs. I automated as much as possible, and spent my time doing what the algorithm couldn’t do – seeing the bigger picture and understanding human psychology. Helping my clients grow their revenue by over YoY (not a typo) while improving cost efficiency was one of my life’s greatest accomplishments thus far.
