ABOUT OLIVIA BLINN
Olivia is a photographer, humanitarian aid worker and graphic designer. She has worked in seven countries on five continents, primarily in roles of information and communications management. She currently works for the Signpost Project at the International Rescue Committee. Prior to the IRC, she worked for the UN Migration Agency, International Organization for Migration (IOM), in the Federated States of Micronesia. She\'s responded to earthquakes in Nepal and Ecuador, the European refugee crisis in Greece and Hurricane Matthew in Haiti. She lived and worked in the enclosed compound of a trauma hospital outside of the Mosul, Iraq — during the battle between Iraqi Security Forces and the Islamic State. This experience became the springboard for her master\'s research in medical data management within conflict settings. Olivia holds an MSc in International Disaster Management from The University of Manchester in the UK and a BA in Journalism & Integrated Media from Biola University in California. She also holds a certificate in Graphic Design from Shillington College, which she undertook to be capable of producing industry-level design and data visualization within the humanitarian sector. After a series of unexpected events (including a global pandemic), Olivia found herself living in Chicago, where she currently resides. She enjoys really good coffee, live music, the outdoors and reading.
