ABOUT OMAR A.

As a Health and Safety Specialist at Amazon, I conduct audits and inspections to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and policies. I also provide training and guidance to employees and managers on best practices and procedures for preventing and reducing workplace hazards and risks. I enjoy applying my project management and data analysis skills to improve the health and safety performance of the organization and its operations. Before joining Amazon, I worked as a Director of Sustainability at Community of the Guardians, a non-profit organization that promotes environmental awareness and education. I led the development and implementation of sustainability initiatives and strategies, such as reducing carbon footprint, increasing energy efficiency, and engaging stakeholders and partners. I also have experience as a research lead at the University of Waterloo and a data analysis consultant at Xcel Beyond Solutions, where I used my Excel expertise and Six Sigma certification to conduct data collection, analysis, and visualization for various projects and clients. I graduated from University of Waterloo with a Business and Environment degree, where I participated in the Ivey case competition and honed my communication and interpersonal skills. I am passionate about entrepreneurship and helping people through innovation.
