About Nyx Valerdy
Nyx Valerdy Marquez is an Architect at the Houston Studio of Perkins & Will, where she works on science and technology, healthcare, and higher education projects, including biomedical research laboratories and mass timber construction. Raised in Puebla, Mexico, her work draws on her longtime interest in the built environment and human mood interplay.Nyx is passionate about mentorship, and an advocate for both the art and profession of architecture. Graduating from the Gerald D. Hines College of Architecture and Design at the University of Houston with Cum Laude distinction, her involvement with student organizations led to the Alpha Rho Chi Leadership award. During her studies, she also served as the student representative to the local AIA Houston Board of Directors, the CoAD Alumni Association Board, and the National Architectural Accrediting Board. Today, she serves as a Christopher Kelley Leadership Development Program Communication Chair and Co-Chair of the Latinos in Architecture Mentorship & Scholarship Program.
