ABOUT NYDIA RUSSE
I graduated from Pratt Institute in 2021 with a Master of Science Program in Dance and Movement in Creative Arts Therapy. Also, I have a bachelor\'s degree in Advertising and a master\'s in creative writing from la Universidad del Sagrado Corazón (Sagrado) in Puerto Rico, a social media marketing certification from New York University (NYU), and a master in screenwriting from la Escuela Universitaria de Artes (TAI) in Madrid. I will bring innovative ideas, enthusiasm, and a clear understanding of the Creative Arts Therapist/Recreational Therapist role. I worked in companies like Woodhull Medical and Mental Health Center and Menorah Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing Care. During the school year of 20••••21 completed hours of service for my internship placement. Inga Benson, a licensed dance/movement therapist (BC-DMT), and Diana Franschman, a licensed dance/movement and creative arts therapist (BC-DMT,L-CAT), supervised me.I co-led, co-hosted, and collaborated in dance/movement therapy and creative arts activities programs to maximize Woodhull and Menorah patients\' social, physical, and skills engagement. I assisted in innovative programs with patients of different cognition cultures and religious backgrounds, mainly focusing in psychiatry and Alzheimer\'s care. I incorporated movement, music, and dance to cultivate socialization and creativity among the group members. I ended my internship with skills and experience that equipped me to lead dance therapy and creative arts groups. Also, working as a creative director and copywriter for more than fifteen years in Advertising, helped me understand and value the healing impact of creativity and creative arts in different populations. That\'s why I\'m very creative and interested in the artistic process of the patients. My understanding of the theory and practice is progressing, and I will continue to advance my therapeutic skills—reliable, cheerful, team player, eager to learn, and willing to go the extra mile. I can function in a chaotic environment and show warmth, interest, attention, holding engagement towards patients. I can see when the limit setting is needed and pay attention to my own internal reactions to patients. I’m able to project and have a solid, confident leadership ability for holding a large group of patients.
