About Nya Nicholson
I\'m a recent graduate of Georgia State University with a degree in Biomedical Science and Enterprise and a certificate in Quality Assurance in the Life Science Industries (CQSP). My interdisciplinary coursework in science, business, law, and regulatory affairs has equipped me with a strong foundation for navigating research and innovation across industries.In the Karikari lab at the University of Pittsburgh, my work as a Research Specialist spans biobanking for multiple clinical studies, running immunoassays to quantify protein biomarkers, and the development of a plasma proteomic assay using liquid chromatography- mass spectrometry.My research interests center on how cultural, environmental, and social risk factors intersect with biological mechanisms to influence disease risk and progression. I am currently preparing to apply to Ph.D. programs for Fall 2027 admission.
