About Nima Ahmadi

As the Co-Founder and CEO of The Wound Company, I am dedicated to transforming wound care across the country by delivering medically necessary, high-quality, and affordable wound care to seniors and other vulnerable patients on behalf of health plans and risk-bearing providers. My passion for wound care began with my earliest child memory: the vivid image of an uncle who lost both of his legs to wounds. Years later, this inspired me to build prosthetic implants abroad for adults in Guatemala who lost their legs to diabetic wounds and study Biomedical AI/Computation (BSE) and Bioengineering (MSE) at Stanford where I also got my MBA from the Graduate School of Business. Before starting The Wound Company, I led innovation for the leading medical device company in the world fully dedicated to amputation prevention and lower extremity wound care (now part of Abbott), and before that, I built a successful software/services business for Medicare Advantage and Medicaid health plans. Knowing wound care, the healthcare payment universe and technology, helped me bring the right people and pieces together to build the most important wound care company in America.

    The Wound Company

    Jan 2022 — Present

The Wound Company is the first value-based wound care company in America, focused strictly on delivering high quality wound care that is medically necessary and affordable through its innovative combination of virtual and in-person care in homes, ALFs, and SNFs powered by certified experts and analytics. Unlike the legacy wound care establishment that is notorious for overutilization and perverse incentives, The Wound Company focuses on what is medically necessary, earlier engagement and more frequent, expert touchpoints with patients and their caregivers. The Wound Company works with health plans and risk-bearing providers nationwide to deliver higher quality wound care at significantly reduced cost.
