ABOUT NELSON WEICHOLD
I am the Chief Financial Officer at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, one of America’s largest not-for-profit pediatric health care systems and one of the Top 10 National Institutes of Health-funded pediatric research facilities. In my time here, it has become clear that Nationwide Children’s is unique in American health care. No other institution I know has our mix of expertise in population health, behavioral health, genomics and health equity. I am grateful for the opportunity to support all of it and enable doctors and researchers to impact the lives of patients and their families inside and outside of the hospital walls. Through my work in treasury operations, financial reporting, revenue cycle, budgeting and cost accounting, I make sure we have a financially healthy organization to improve the lives of kids in our community, the country and the world.I find one of the best parts of my job is getting to work in a culture where everyone from legal and risk management to marketing and operations understand how they affect child health. Every situation that involves finance has consequences for our bottom line and it is my job to oversee those impactful decisions.
