ABOUT NWAMAKA AMADIKE
As an Early Learning and Child Care (ELCC) instructor at Bow Valley College, I draw on extensive, hands-on experience in the early years sector to deepen future educators’ understanding of child development, pedagogy, and responsive practice. My strong foundation in cultural knowledge and lived experience informs my teaching, helping students critically engage with diversity, equity, and inclusion while fostering empathy and culturally responsive approaches in their work with children and families. I hold academic credentials in Human Services, Early Years Studies, and two master’s degrees in Child and Youth Studies and Open, Digital, and Distance Education. These qualifications, combined with my teaching and curriculum development experience, have enabled me to support educators in advancing both academically and professionally, strengthening their confidence and effectiveness across diverse early learning settings. I am particularly committed to mentoring adult learners, recognising their varied motivations and experiences, and creating learning environments that are collaborative, reflective, and practice oriented. In my role as Executive Director of Between Cultures Foundation, I extend this commitment beyond the classroom by advancing equity and empowerment for immigrant families within the early childhood sector and the broader community. I am deeply passionate about culturally responsive pedagogy and work intentionally to bridge gaps between families, educators, and community systems. Through advocacy, community programming, and partnerships, I promote inclusive practices, improve access to resources, and create meaningful opportunities for engagement and dialogue. My work amplifies the voices and lives experiences of diverse families, ensuring they are reflected in policies, programs, and everyday practice.Additionally, my second master’s degree in education, with a focus on leadership in open, digital, and distance education, strengthens my ability to integrate digital literacy and innovative technologies into teaching and learning. I support educators in navigating and adopting effective online and hybrid pedagogies, ensuring they are equipped to meet the evolving needs of learners in today’s digital landscape. Do you share the same values? Connect with me today and let’s build a better future for immigrants and humankind.
