Experienced and very accomplished technologist and engineer, with expertise in systems software, distributed systems, storage, networking, and computer hardware. Promoted to one of a small number of Principal Engineers at Transarc and a senior technical leader at Panasas, two start-up companies with ties to Carnegie Mellon, which have seeded the industry with ideas and talent.I\'ve actively participated in bringing forth ideas which have helped to shape the industry, in large-scale distributed systems, scalable and performant storage systems, and including solving complex problems on the frontiers of progress. I have many times contributed significant innovations which reframed problems and created new possibilities.I\'ve been the technical leader for and grown large teams, driving innovation and developing people. I possess a rare combination of breadth and depth, having worked many problems from first principles and worked on them at various points in time and in different contexts. I\'m fortunate to be able to work on really hard and challenging problems, including in areas such as technical infrastructure, self-driving, performance, reliability, scalability, and optimum architecture.
