ABOUT NURIA LOPEZ DURIO

I graduated in Master of Architecture in May 2012, following my studies at San Pablo CEU University, Madrid. In June 2012 I moved to England looking for new opportunities and challenges.During 2012, I participated in international architectural competitions, in which my final thesis project was selected for the D3 Housing Tomorrow 2013 Exhibition at the University of Houston. Also it was nominated to 7º “NAN Arquitectura” Award 2013 as the Best Residential Architecture, resulting finalist. Designing this project, I have acquired a great knowledge in Residential Architecture.I worked in 2013 in a medium sized studio in London which was growing fast and developing interesting buildings. In particular, I was working on an office building. In 2014, I was working in an international studio in central London. Working in this practice allowed me to participate in a diverse range of Architecture including retail, housing, preservation, landscape, masterplanning, and cultural projects. I moved to a lighting and skylight supplier in Towcester, Lledo UK. This company was a new challenge for me as I had to deal with other Architects, Developers, Contractors and Engineers around UK, making the rooflight design and the calculations. The main sectors in this company were Retail, Schools and Industrial. Although it was a good learning opportunity for me, my greatest area of interest and strengths are in architectural practice, and this is what I would like to focus on.I am hardworking, organized, responsible and very committed to my work. I am highly creative and meticulous, as my portfolio demonstrates and I am able to make decisions competently. I worked in groups during my degree, so I enjoyed teamwork to exchange ideas that improve the work. I consider it very important to be in a nice environment, working in a friendly and professional adaptable manner.
