My goal as Creative Director for CCB is all about ensuring the visual branding success of the company. From the website and social media digital assets to the packaging and everywhere in between, I\'m here to make the brand look professional, enticing and desirable. Our brand is about encompassing a few specific cultures: coffee, California urban life (and grassroots small business efforts) and the importance of community improvement.Coffee Culture:We\'re currently focused on providing exclusive coffee from a small family-owned, Nicaraguan farm. The beans are cultivated at feet above sea level in virgin soil by hand; these hands are of laborers who are paid 30-40% higher wages than neighboring farms. This high-quality coffee is exclusive because it\'s a farm that doesn\'t distribute to big box brands like Starbucks. Nicaraguan coffee as a whole only accounts for about 2% of the world\'s coffee supply.California Urban Culture:The essence of our brand comes from the diversity in our team, and that we\'re non-pretentious about who we are, where we come from and where our product comes from. We embrace our modest upbringings and challenges that make us unique not just as a company, but also as individuals. The most notable challenge, however, is the CEO\'s difficult childhood. A childhood of homelessness and parental difficulties making it very difficult to focus on school and staying out of trouble in Altadena and parts of the Pasadena area.Community Involvement:Due to the CEO\'s childhood, our business is based on the principle of charity. The business was created SO THAT we can give back, unlike other businesses that start as for-profit with non-profit initiatives being afterthoughts. We wanted to make sure that our proceeds are being talked about, how much of the proceeds are being donated and where they\'re going. 10% of every purchase by customers is donated directly to Learning Works Charter School (LWCS), a subsidiary of Public Works Inc. in Pasadena.
