NASA OSAM-1 Mission • Designed, implemented and analyzed tests of OSAM-1 Robotic Servicing Arm actuators to NASA standards and flight requirements. Characterized and validated performance of harmonic drive, gearmotor, brake, rotary encoder, torque transducer, bearing throughout service life. Presented impact to higher level project requirements to customer. • Trained on-site at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center to function as resident subject matter expert in outgassing / contamination control, including materials selection, cryogenic cold finger and QCM sampling via thermal vacuum testing. • Developed an automated monitoring system for thermal chambers using LabVIEW and SCPI over RS-232, eliminating over temperature errors and reducing work hours by 60%. • Reviewed and modified designs of part fit, form, and function to account for out of spec or new requirements. • Trained, mentored, and reviewed work of new engineers in company processes.
