Oversee Trust Accounting team for Mackenzie Investments (MFC) and Investors Group (IG) and responsible to our clients, the mutual and segregated funds, and deposit accounts (Funds) for ensuring that all incoming and outgoing cash-related transactions are accounted for and executed properly.• Oversees team to reconcile and execute cash flow activities of unitholders, mutual funds, government agencies, corporate Finance and investment dealers.• Oversee team to perform bank and general ledger reconciliations of all fund Trust and Corporate Bank Accounts.• Oversees team to monitor and resolve outstanding suspense items in a collaborative effort with line areas, including up-to-date reporting with escalation process.• Oversees key internal controls over cash receipts, cash disbursements, reconciliations and cashflow activities.• Control owner and Process owner of key CSOX initiatives; CEO-CFO certification review and reconciliation.• Oversees team responsible for internal trust accounting systems and banking applications.• Support and improve internal controls over systems and financial processes over the settlement, cash movement and reconciliation of client cash balances.• Understanding of internal controls and operational risks; develop key controls as required; compliance and regulatory requirements; ensure internal controls are adequate to safeguard assets and ensure proper record keeping.• Liaise with internal/external auditors to support testing and review of current procedures.• Provide strong leadership and cultivate a high performing environment and empowering the team by fostering an inclusive work environment and flexible workforce.• Coach and support the development of the teams and sharing technical expertise and insight and disseminating best practice throughout the team.• Promote continuous process improvements and set department objectives that align with corporate strategies.• Participate in committees, such as Compliance/Privacy.
