ABOUT NICK COOPER
Not available.I have gained thorough experience designing and developing financial systems, for the investment banking/ securities, retail banking industries and government departments. My technical skills have been complemented by formal financial training and certification, coupled with exposure to projects concentrating on fixed income, interest rate derivatives and credit risk. I am experienced in agile development methods and in leading project initiatives from conception, through design and successful implementation, to post release support. At Insight Investments, I work within a team delivering currency trading and portfolio management tools to the front office. Work includes new modules and enhancements to Insight’s extensive toolset, including regulatory changes. I have helped Insight add a new trading venue (Flextrade), requiring FIX messaging. I am also engaged in migrating CI/CD Gradle builds to cloud-based Team City.A very varied front office role and a very large code, portfolio management tools implement client specific hedging strategies and generate new orders, to balance positions in accordance with client IMAs. New orders are then sent to Insight’s currency trading system, where traders may fill orders manually or assign to counterparty-offered algorithms. Counterparty choice is permitted within risk profile rules, RFQs may be issued via one of two available venues (FXall and Flextrade) and filled orders are disclosed to a third party for best-execution reporting. At BJSS\' client site (HM Home Office), I enhanced the client\'s many Kubernetes-deployed Case-working applications to use Filebeat as a \"sidecar\", changing applications to write logs to pod-local storage so Filebeat could read and send that data to Logstash instances and on to Elastic. I also participated in application enhancement and bug fixing. At Deutsche Bank, I was responsible for assisting application teams with migrating their Java-based applications to run in Openshift, including participating in code refactoring, testing and deployment through to production. This provides for a very varied role, including new applications.
