ABOUT NATHANIEL RUSSELL
I bring legal experience and an interest in technology and privacy law to my role at Courthouse Libraries BC, as a regular blogger for SLAW, and in other consulting work. For years I practiced civil litigation and family law before joining Courthouse Libraries BC as a Liaison Lawyer in 2010. Prior to in law, I worked in communications and media—internet startups in the late 1990s and early and also for CBC Television. I am a Dalhousie Law School graduate (2005). Today I help the library and its 30 branches meet the needs of the profession, developing programs and legal resources, and as an ambassador of Courthouse Libraries BC\'s ultimate value to the legal profession. I manage the Clicklaw Wikibooks platform. I also serve as in-house counsel and as privacy officer. My focus is on small firms and solo practitioners, helping them improve their research and practice management skills, so they can best serve the public. Specialties: privacy law, AI governance, media and copyright laws, legal research, litigation, social media, publishing technologies, MediaWiki.
