    Lead the design of a heavily instrumented and highly flexible in-house pilot plant.• Drive future capital expansion projects by enhancing manufacturing throughput.• Oversee a team to design and run small scale and large scale experiments of prototypical manufacturing/growth systems to furnish centerlines, throughput data, and process parameters for feasibility studies.• Act as a single source to provide insights to cross-functional teams tasked with analyzing the technical, business, and financial impact of proposed manufacturing system changes.• Direct the scaling-up of new processes, encompassing the selection, installation, and assessment of advanced solid state fermentation technologies, alongside the formulation of operational protocols.• Provide expert guidance in optimizing and eliminating contamination vectors and de-risking current and future process changes at scale. • Create and maintain Process Flow Sheets/Transformational Flow Sheets for current and proposed processes.• Work with onsite Quality Team leads to recommend and trial new in process measurement techniques.• Develop and manage a team of engineers, providing coaching and feedback to support department goals and team member growth.• Partner cross-functionally with product research, research and development, and manufacturing operations teams to vet and recommend strategic process changes that deliverproduct quality improvements, process reliability upgrades, and production throughput increases.• Build and manage relationships with vendors including design/fabrication firms, research equipment vendors, and process equipment OEMs.
