About Nicole Prause
I received my Ph.D. from Indiana University, Bloomington in clinical science with concentrations in statistics and neuroscience in 2007. After a clinical internship at Boston Consortium and research fellowship at Harvard University, I transitioned to neuroimaging as a Research Scientist at Mind Research Network and faculty at the University of New Mexico in 2010. I completed that contract in 2012, accepting a research faculty position at the University of California, Los Angeles in the Department of Psychiatry. While at UCLA, I was promoted to Associate Research Scientist. I completed the UCLA contract in March 2015. After some time in industry as a data scientist, I founded my company, Liberos LLC, to lead a large, national psychophysiology study in couples. In 2021, I returned to UCLA back in the Department of Medicine. Currently, my research focuses on (1) opioid and alcohol abuse and its consequences and (2) male orgasm physiology, with the goal of explaining post-orgasmic illness syndrome. I still hold a clinical license as a psychologist in California, where I see patients as a part of a clinical trial at UCLA.
