As a WASH Officer, I oversee the implementation of urban and rural WASH projects, including onsite sanitation systems (decentralized wastewater treatment units in urban slums), Water ATM installation with sustainable business models, sanitation marketing in rural areas, medical waste management facilities in City Corporation areas, and WASH FIT implementation in healthcare facilities. I also support emergency WASH preparedness and response.Additionally, I maintain close coordination with Khulna City Corporation (KCC), KWASA, and DPHE to ensure effective implementation and smooth handover of project interventions.

Hello, well-wishers! I’m Nowshad, currently pursuing my Master’s in Water, Sanitation, and Health Engineering at the University of Leeds, generously funded by the UK Government\'s Chevening Award through the FCDO, in recognition of my outstanding leadership and advocacy skills in the water and sanitation sector. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, with a focus on water resource management, sanitation, and environmental impact assessment. Additionally, I have completed a Master’s in Governance and Development Studies. Earlier in my career, I worked in both the construction sector and with civil society organizations. I have had the privilege of serving with renowned organizations such as Action Contre La Faim, NGO Forum for Public Health, World Vision Bangladesh, WaterAid, and the International Organization for Migration (IOM), where I served as a National WASH Officer. With more than eight years of proven experience, I have successfully managed and implemented project budgets totaling USD 57 million, funded by international donors such as UKAID/FCDO, KfW, SDC, ECHO, BPRM, DFAT, SIDA, and GAC, as well as UN agencies like UNHCR, UNICEF, and IOM. As an engineer, I have been extensively involved in the design and implementation of large-scale WASH projects, including centralized and decentralized Fecal Sludge Management (FSM) and sanitation systems, solid waste management and composting units, hybrid/solar-powered water networks for both groundwater and surface water distribution, groundwater monitoring and modeling, emergency water trucking, water quality monitoring, biogas systems, on-site sanitation, and FSM systems. In addition to my technical and managerial roles, I have experience in governance management for local government institutions and private sector service providers, contributing to sustainable development initiatives and capacity building.
