ABOUT NOVERA KHAN

Being inspired by diverse teams, geographies and commodities, I developed to an effective leader within the Energy industry with a global perspective. I am passionate about embedding a savvy risk and reward management culture within a firm’s mindset. As an effective Board influencer who is well respected for the ability to leverage business content and cultivate strong positive working relationships across functions, I stand for proven success in bringing about step change in the organization’s competence and culture. I enjoy bringing together an economic mind set with wider financial steering metrics such that technical concepts lend themselves to effective understanding and management of enterprise’s risks. My personal strengths include commercial acumen, holistic big picture thinking, energetic problem-solving attitude, quick understanding of complex topics translated into action, and building/positively leading teams. Moreover, I bring an extensive experience in Enterprise Risk Management with a concentration in Global Market and Credit Risk Management across upstream, midstream and downstream risks native to the Energy industry. My risk philosophy is centered on disciplined commercial partnership and agile decision making to enable the business to succeed. I am impassioned by Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and influence this discussion and action from the platform of Women\'s Energy Network as well as Women\'s Forum for the Economy and Society. I also serve on my firm\'s DEI council, to influence the agenda top down in a structured and responsible fashion. I am thrilled to have been recently named winner of the WeQual Awards EMEA 2023 in the Finance category. This honor recognizes extraordinary women leaders across industries. It is a strong acknowledgement of my personal and professional brand grounded in elevated leadership, demonstrable strategic insight beyond my current remit, and resilience in leading through times of crisis.
