About Norris Hunt

After achieving a Bachelor of Architecture in 1981 from Mississippi State University, Norris worked for a year with an urban design firm, Urban Design Plus, prior to joining Portman Architects for 38 years, and later transitioning to GVSA.Norris’ career in the AE community spans 43 years and has progressed from intern architect to Senior Project Manager, Vice President, to Principal. His experience has allowed him to participate in a broad range of project types and award-winning buildings including: hotels, offices, mixed use, classroom, laboratory buildings, master planning, and retail.Norris has worked on projects throughout major cities around the world, including India, China, Israel, Singapore, and Indonesia in addition to most major cities of the US. His people skills, sensitivity to clients’ priorities and ability to remain calm and focused in stressful situations, has naturally migrated him towards project management. He believes in working closely with all stakeholders, liaising between the design team and ambitions of the client to produce the best possible results. He is a supporter of the Society of College and University Planning (SCUP), the Georgia Association of State Facilities Association (GASFA), American Association of Airport Executives Airports Consultants Council (ACC), Airports Council International (ACI), and Airport Minority Advisory Council (AMAC). Also, our own State, Georgian Airport Association,(GAA)
