Among them is Siri, the intelligent assistant spun out of SRI in 2008 and later acquired by Apple, now embedded in every iPhone, Mac, and HomePod.Norman is the co-author of If You Really Want to Change the World: A Guide to Creating, Building, and Sustaining Breakthrough Ventures (Harvard Business Review Press), and the author of a weekly newsletter for founders of deep-technology startups: normanwinarsky.substack.com.He has served as a Lecturer in Management at the Stanford Graduate School of Business, where he taught courses on how to create breakthrough ventures, and has been a Visiting Scholar at Stanford, Member of the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton, Chairman of the University of Chicago Visiting Committee for the Physical Sciences, and a member of the National Academy Committee on Forecasting Future Disruptive Technologies.Earlier in his career, Norman and his team received an Emmy Award for pioneering work in HDTV and RCA’s highest honor, the Sarnoff Award, for technological innovation.He holds a B.A, M.S, and Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University of Chicago, where he graduated summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, and received the Paul J.
