From 2012 to 2017, I worked on a thriller set in the City and around the world, based on my experiences as an IT guy in investment banks.\"Trading Down\" was published by Endeavour Press in Nov 2017 - see Amazon reviews. It\'s not just a book about a bank under cyberattack, it\'s also a love story, a political drama about the victims of US regulation and a portrait of life in the back office of a large bank. All in 300 pages!I am currently working on a sequel to Trading Down. It\'s about cryptocurrencies and the use of AI to create trading strategies.and what it\'s like to work in a Fintech start up. I am also working on fun project, the History of the Vuelta a Colombia, looking at how and why Colombia produces such great cyclists.

ABOUT STEPHEN NORMAN
A riveting page turner.” Francesca Washtell, City AM“a great, surprising rollercoaster crime-thriller” Tanya Andeasyan, Editor, Banking Technology“cleverly intertwines the world of high finance and international terror” James Longman ABC News“a damn fine thriller” Grab This BookTrading Down (Endeavour Press) is a thriller about a bank under cyber attack, with lots of real world politics, tension and some humour. The action takes place in Hong Kong, New York, London and the Middle East, mostly in Yemen. The book exudes the culture, extreme stress and politics inside an investment bank, based on the 25 years I spent in that world. During the 1990s I worked on the expansion of the new electronic trading markets in Europe and Asia. In 1996 I joined Merrill Lynch and followed the rise and fall of the dotcoms. I witnessed the awful destruction of Sept 11 and then as CTO spent two years rebuilding our US infrastructure and data centres. In 2005 I joined RBS Global Markets as CIO. It was a rollercoaster ride of reckless expansion, then the acquisition of ABN AMRO and the subsequent collapse of RBS. The integration of ABN AMRO\'s fragmented infrastructure was a long march which took 4 years.
