ABOUT NORMAN SHIPPEE
Norman Shippee, PhD, is a Senior Climate Scientist and the Stantec Technical Lead for Climate Vulnerability and Adaptation with over 13 years of experience in the climate field, bringing extensive facilitation, research, teaching, and leadership skills in the physical climate change area. His work focuses on generating tangible climate projections for real world application within climate risk assessments, developing climate change indices to advance the understanding of climate/infrastructure interactions, and helping clients build resilience to future climate change. His experience with climate projections and climate risk assessment protocols has led to Norman being the lead instructor for climate change sections of professional training courses for infrastructure practitioners for various clients.Norman serves technical advisor for the continued development of the Public Infrastructure Engineering Vulnerability Committee (PIEVC) Protocol and associated products, such as the High Level Screening Guide (HLSG), Portfolio guide, among other developments. As well, he has served on Canadian Standards Association committees as a senior climate expert.
