About Norman Osborn
In the blur of Covid19 social distancing and the SBA loan program, CresCom was acquired by United Bank on May 1st. You won’t notice any changes for the near future, you have the same banker and same banking team here to serve you, just as we always have. The signs may change in the near future, but the people won’t. My role as the Market/City Executive will remain the same, here to serve you. However, there are excellent things to come. United Bank has a strong customer focused culture that I am excited to be part of. It also expands my resources with enhanced technology and expertise in many new lending areas, like the automotive industry. Here are a few facts that I shared in the announcement memo:• This 180 year-old bank was formed on St. Patrick’s Day 1839 when the Northwestern Bank of Virginia opened a branch in Parkersburg. In the years to follow, the bank survived – and often thrived – through Civil War, natural disasters, recessions, and depressions, by focusing on the communities it served. And now Covid-19! Through a combination of hard work, integrity, calculated acquisitions and unrivaled customer service, United has grown to be one of the top fifty largest banking companies in the United States. • The mission of United Bankshares, Inc. is excellence in service to our employees, our customers, our shareholders and our communities.• In 1987, United Bankshares, Inc. became a publicly traded company, and just a year later hit the $1 billion mark in total assets. Today, and 31 acquisitions later, United Bankshares has total assets of nearly $25 billion and 138 full-service banking offices and 16 loan origination offices in Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Ohio and Washington, D.C, including North Carolina and South Carolina – each built on customer service and commitment to the community. No overlap in markets. • Dual headquarters in Washington, D.C. and Charleston, WV, United Bankshares, Inc.(UBSI -$26.35), is a now nearly a $25 billion regional financial services company. UBSI is the parent company of its banking subsidiary United I hope everyone is well and stays that way. I, personally, have grown weary of the social distancing and look forward to making calls, having lunch and seeing each of you soon. In the meantime, it’s business as usual and don’t ever hesitate to call if you need
