ABOUT NORMA KRAYEM
Ms. Krayem is a Chair of the Cybersecurity, Privacy & Digital Innovation Team at Van Scoyoc Associates and a globally recognized expert on tech, cyber and privacy issues. She brings over 20 years of executive management, global policy and regulatory experience having held leadership positions in the U.S. Departments of State, Commerce, Transportation demonstrating global leadership, team building and creative problem solving skills to challenging trade, critical infrastructure as well as homeland and national security issues. She brought her entrepreneurial spirit to bear when she created one of the first ever cybersecurity practices in an AmLaw 100 firm in 2005 at a time when most were focused solely on data privacy issues, not the broader national security risks to all sectors. She uses her diverse and creative problem abilities on a wide variety of technology issues including AI, quantum, cyber, Fintech, digital assets, cryptocurrency and more across global supply chains. She works with public and private sector clients to manage global risks in key sectors incl. space/space launch industries, banking & financial services, insurance, energy (electric utilities, pipelines etc.) communications, health, transportation (aviation, transit, rail, port, maritime, autonomous vehicles), space/satellite etc. She speaks around the world as a subject matter expert and is widely quoted in the media across a wide range of publications including the Washington Post, CNN, Wall St. Journal, Law360, Politico and a host of trade press. She is a Member of Chatham House and served on the prestigious Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) Cybersecurity Task Force. She brings extensive international experience and works with U.S & international regulators on global issues, international development and diplomacy, along with the Executive Branch, U.S. Congress and multilateral organizations incl. the G7, G20, EU, APEC and other entities. She has broad experience in a host of homeland & national security issues including emergency preparedness, response and recovery issues; port, cargo & supply chain security; health/pandemic preparedness; chemical security. She also has extensive international trade experience including export promotion, finance & controls issues and is well versed in CFIUS issues.
