Responsible for systems safety, occupational safety, and environmental compliance for 9 research teams and 120 staff. Developed a New Equipment/Experiment Installation and Approval process. Used this process to identify and mitigate hazards associated with new installations, and satisfy all institutional requirements. Facilitate group Process Hazard Analysis sessions. Review and approve JSAs, SOPs, equipment handling and shipping procedures, lift plans, and hot work permits. Perform oxygen deficiency hazard analyses. Assign and track training. Assist with the development of emergency plans. Perform incident investigations.ES & H Coordinator for new Detector Microfabrication Facility: review engineering drawings, review proposed hazardous materials inventory, facilitate review by wastewater and air quality internal experts, and inspect equipment installations.Utilized occupational safety and systems safety engineering skills as the Safety Officer for the SuperCDMS SNOLAB Project. Ensured designs adequately mitigated safety risks. Prepared for and presented at project status reviews. After serving in this role for several years, successfully trained my replacement.Managed the subcontractor safety, PPE, and Indoor Air Quality programs for several years. Reviewed building, lab and equipment construction drawings for code compliance and safety considerations. Authored the SLAC Construction Safety Requirements Manual. Assisted Legal and Supply Chain Management staff with a re-write of Subcontract Terms and Conditions. Served as Safety Officer for installation and construction of several major capital projects. Authored required documents; prepare and present at milestone reviews. Ensured ES & H requirements were met during planning, design, construction and installation. Performed construction safety inspections and oversight; reviewed construction safety procedures.
