About Norm Johanson

For the past few years I have been working at Amazon Web Services (AWS) building.NET tools which includes the AWS SDK for.NET and the AWSToolkit for Visual Studio. I\'ve also been building solutions for.NET developers to deploy their applications to the AWS Cloud. I am also a frequent contributor to the AWS blog for.NET developers (http://blogs.aws.amazon.com/net/).Before AWS I was a Senior Developer and Software Architect for Serena Software (formerly PacificEdge Software) for 7 years. My first project was building a 3 tier highly configurable Project & Portfolio Management (PPM) product as an on-premise offering. Upon acquisition, Serena changed the direction of PPM to SaaS. This required many changes to the platform in order to maintain scalability and security in the cloud. Our team later retooled the PPM codebase to develop the Agile on Demand product.My primary responsibilities were the database model, the C# middle tier and the platform\'s performance and scalability. I was also a team lead and later a SCRUM master of the architecture team.
