He has appeared at all levels of court in Alberta (Provincial Court, Queen\'s Bench and the Alberta Court of Appeal) as well as the Supreme Court of British Columbia and the Federal Court of Appeal and a leave appeal to the Supreme Court of Canada. He is a member of the Law Society of Alberta and the Canadian Bar Association, the Muslim Lawyers Association (former Western Canada Rep.), and is a sustaining member of ACTLA. He was called to the Alberta Bar in and was the Judicial District of Edmonton Rep. for ACTLA in 2008. He has also served as treasurer, secretary, First Vice President of ACTLA and was President of the Alberta Civil Trial Lawyers Association in 2015-16. He has instructed and evaluated numerous Bar Admission Courses for the Legal Education Society of Alberta (Discoveries/ Questioning and Client Interviews sections) and has written published papers on insurance litigation in Alberta. Norm was counsel in a precedent -setting case which greatly benefits the rights of accident victims in Alberta. He has had the honour of successfully representing thousands of victims in his career and continues to fight vigorously for individual rights.
