About Nora Willauer
Nora Willauer is a passionate musician, devoted not only to her instrument, but also to the relationship between music and community. Her love for teaching has recently led her to pursue a doctoral degree program at the Cleveland Institute of Music with Dr. Melissa Kraut. Nora is on faculty at the University of Akron, and also maintains a small private studio. She performs with numerous ensembles in Cleveland and including the Cleveland Pops, Columbus Pro Musica, and “Love Finds Judy Garland,” a genre-bending trio created by award-winning singer Joan Ellison. Nora believes that musicians have the power to change our world through projects that challenge and inspire audiences. This belief has guided her over the past few years in her work as director of Documentary Songwriters, a non-profit devoted to bearing witness through authentic songwriting. In this role she crafted a summer training program that allows musicians from all of the world the opportunity to learn the Documentary Songwriting Method and integrate it into their careers.
